Homeless Prevention
Our Homeless Prevention program provides short-term emergency rental relief to renters who are at an imminent risk of becoming homeless.
Case management, housing counseling, financial coaching, and temporary emergency rental relief for households who meet program eligibility criteria.
Have you already received an eviction notice?
If yes -> Contact us ASAP to determine if you are eligible for rental assistance to prevent your eviction.
Are you behind on your rent or worried about paying rent next month, but haven’t yet received an eviction notice?
If yes -> Although you might not qualify for rental assistance through this program, we can discuss other options/programs that might work for your situation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Active eviction notice/notice to pay or vacate
- Under 30% Area Median Income
- For next month’s rent -> rent must be under Fair Market Rent
You may begin the application process by meeting with a Services Navigator at either HRDC location or by contacting us by phone. Services Navigators are available on a first come first serve basis anytime our offices are open.
Please note that income and rent limits may apply. Eligibility is based on income, assets, and housing status and is determined on a month to month basis. Units must be affordable for the household’s income.
