NBC MONTANA — Three Forks Mayor steps up to be driver for seniors, people with disabilities
Long time Montanan Randy Johnston has his hands full with two different jobs.
Normally he’s the Mayor of Three Forks, but recently he took a job driving for the transit service Galavan.
Johnston stepped up when the organization couldn’t find a new driver to cover the Three Forks area.
“Nobody really wanted to do it. So, I said what’s going to happen? Well, they’re going to pull the bus and of course it was shut down for two weeks. And so, I made a few calls and talked to sunshine at the office and got set up,” said Johnston.
Seniors and people with disabilities rely on Galavan for transportation.
When services were put on pause, Three Forks residents were concerned about how to get where they needed to go.
“My blood pressure was up because we had to find our own rides and stuff. But Randy stepped up and came to our rescue,” said Delores Nichols, a Three Forks resident.
